Yes, I am flying our American
flag at half mast because I believe that OUR America is in a state of
emergency. Our pledge has the wording; "pledge allegiance to the
flag and the republic for which it stands"I feel that our
republic is in dire danger of being eroded if not outright abolished. We
are losing our republic to a corporate fascism ruled by oligarchy.
This manifesto is of course, a work in progress. I invite others to
send me their ideas and solutions.
Since I often point out the
problems in OUR America and I debate the right to free speech. I also
firmly believe that anyone can complain, but it's our responsibility to
not only point out the problem, but to also offer viable solutions.
And,
while reading the following information consider the implications of this
call to action. And remember as Americans what we have accomplished in
spite of obstacles. WE the People have a solid history of working together.
Standing together to implement change for the better. When we are divided
is when we fall and fail.
We are afterall, The
"United" States. A republic.
As Americans we can stand once again to be the true leaders of the
world and by our example! Rather than be seen as the bullies who find
people expandable WE the People are living in a time a generation where
was are making history.
Every generation is met with establishing their legacy. WE live in an
exciting time in this cyber frontier. With the rich and powerful coming
out of the woodwork to not only taking control of literally everything
aspect of our lives, but also exploiting their power while making billions
in profit. While our country continues to grow in debt and obligation to
foreign nations.
1. All voting machines are to provide a paper receipt
This will allow a system of check and balances -- arbitrary audits are
able to be performed assuring that the computer vote matches the paper
receipt. Not only will voters be dispensed a paper receipt, much like in
the use of ATM machines, but also receive a duplicate receipt for their
records -- better still go back to paper ballots
2. Assure that we have secure voting machines;
WE the People taxpayers pay for these machines and insist that anyone
working for voting machine companies are exempted from donating any funds to
candidates. This is a blatant conflict of interest! Recall how in
September 2003 the CEO of Diebold held a fund raiser for GW Bush and
promised him a win?
3. Have all candidates with the same amount of campaign funds;
Provide funds from tax payer dollars. Abolish the use of campaign
donations from special interest groups. Consider the implications of this
novel concept. Think of the billions of dollars that are paid by the drug
companies alone and how much we could benefit in the area of reduced
prices for medications alone. Then consider all other areas of special
interest groups the monies paid to campaigns, for trips and presents -- ohmy -- the amounts are truly staggering! That money could be better spent
elsewhere by doing good rather than being used as what they really are;
bribes!
4. All candidates have equal access via the media;
TV and radio ads along with magazine and other mediums cost money and
candidates without the money are not able to afford ads that reach WE the
People. Implement the use of Public Broadcasting Announcements (PBA) for
all candidates in order to offer true equality to all candidates and allow
candidates to reach ALL the people.
5. All candidates will be involved in the debates;
Abolish the status quo of allowing only the candidates of two parties to
be seen nationwide by WE the People. After all, when you have only two
candidates to choose from. That is only provide WE the People one more
choice than a dictatorship
6. The candidate with the most votes wins the office of
President. The office of the President will be one six year term;
This will avoid the person from being diverted with campaigning for
office after their four year term is over. Thereby, allowing them the
essential time necessary to concentrate on running the country and save
taxpayers the monies spent on travel expenses, paying staff such as the
secret service, etc.
7. The candidate with the second most votes wins the office of
Vice President;
This will offer WE the People a true bi partisan government with the
opportunity to have two parties represented as intended in a republic --
one party rule was not the intent of our forefathers and is essentially
what happened in
8. Abolish the Electorate College and remove the ability of the
Supreme Court to appoint the President of WE the People;
The system of the EC is obsolete and has been corrupted due to the
redistricting machinations
9. Avoid the use of language and labels that serve to divide WE the
People;
Over time I have noticed how the same themes permeate our society.
During the Civil War we had divisions by the Gray States and the Blue
States. Another similar theme is the use of "freeing of a peoples" and
the use of God and religion. Recall how the phrase "In God We Trust" was
first placed on our monetary system in 1864 on the two cent piece. Today
we are divided by the Red States and the Blue States -- lest we forget
what it meant to be a 'red' a few decades
ago.
9. Abolish the practice of media moguls providing our only source of
information via the use of news personalities;
The airwaves belong to WE the People -- the media moguls currently own
39% (*) of our public airwaves and are seeking more control. In
some cities the same media conglomerates own the TV, radio, magazines and
newspapers. Thereby citizens in those areas wind up being
fed only the information the media CEOS and their sponsors want WE the
People to hear and see. * The private media moguls tried to gain 45% in
2003, but we foiled their efforts. WE the People joined together and
bombarded the FCC website, bombarded the Congress and Senate with phone
calls, emails and faxes).
10. Embrace the ideals of our founding fathers and recall what
Thomas Jefferson said about how there is no true democracy without a free
press;
"Our
liberty cannot be guarded but by the freedom of the press, nor that be
limited without danger of losing it." Thomas Jefferson to John Jay,
1786.
"Where the press is free and every man able to read, all is safe."
"Whenever the people are well informed, they can
be trusted with their own government."
12. Assure that the software used in OUR voting machines is secure;
Perform audits and Quality Control measures> Make sure they are
performed by independent computer scientists. Publish the results in
easily accessible mediums ALL mediums that report or comment about voting.
This would be good to assure voters that their voting system is indeed,
secure
Dictatorship
Please, read the definition and see if it sounds familiar.
"I am only one, but I am one. I cannot do everything, but I
can do something.
And because I cannot do everything, I will not refuse to do the something
that I can do. What I can do, I should do. And what I should do, by the
grace of God, I will do." ~
Edward Everett Hale ~
