Ingredients:
One large bottle Brook's Tangy Ketsup
One whole white onion
One Green pepper
1 Tablespoon Worcheschire sauce
All purpose flour
Garlic salt
Cooking oil
Black pepper
Table salt
Directions:
Rinse dry large white onion and cut into four pieces
Rinse large green pepper and cut in four pieces (remove all seeds)
Rinse and pat dry a round steak; cut in four (4) pieces
Prepare meat for browning by sprinkling meat with table salt, pepper, garlic
salt (to taste)
Dredge steak pieces in flour; shake off excess; leave sit
Pour small amount of cooking oil into medium size skillet
Place meat into warm oil and brown
When steak has 'browned' drain off excess oil; loosen the 'leavins' from skillet
Do not discard
Cover all skillet ingredients with cold water
Add, onion and green pepper
Pour in bottle of Brook's Tangy ketchup
Carefully, stir until water and ketchup completely mixed
Add, one tablespoon Worscehsire sauce
Bring to boil -- reduce heat to simmer; simmer (uncovered) two hours; check
meat often to avoid sticking to skillet
Makes great red gravy and tender meat
Serve with mashed potatoes.
